Angel Ogden - "I Am" Therapy
“Know thyself” a simple yet profound invitation that lies at the heart of my therapeutic approach.

"I Am" Therapy believe we each carry a life script: a story shaped by early roles, relationships, and the environments we've passed through. Over time, these scripts can begin to define us, but they are not who we truly are.
In our work together, I offer a sacred space to pause, reflect, and gently explore the many layers of your script. I see you not as broken, but as whole, perhaps just entangled in stories that no longer serve you.
I draw from Humanistic traditions; Person-Centred, Gestalt, and Transactional Analysis. I work relationally, spiritually, and compassionately. Together, we can begin to unravel inherited patterns, understand where they came from, and reconnect with your essence the still, unchanging presence beneath it all.

This is your space to remember who you are to come home to yourself.

Meet Angel Ogden

BSc Hons Integrative Humanistic counsellor (BACP)

The most beautiful invitation I’ve ever received was this: “Know thyself.” Not as interrogation, but as a sacred turning inward, a gentle yet profound inquiry into the layers we’ve gathered over time. Beneath those layers lives something unchanging. Something true. "I Am".

I see our lives as scripts, each of us born into a play already in motion. Cast with characters like family, friends, teachers, lovers. Each scene shaped by the environment, the era, the emotion. As children, we absorb these roles and settings, and from them, we build our identities. Scripts become beliefs. Beliefs become behaviours. Over time, we forget we were ever the writer.

In my work, I offer a new metaphor: imagine yourself as a TV. The life script plays out on the screen, flickering scenes, old stories, moments of joy and pain. But the TV itself, the source, is never altered by what plays upon it. It is steady. Still. Whole. But many of us forget how to switch off the script. We become entangled in the drama, thinking we are what we see.

I too have been lost in my own life script. Through therapy, spiritual practice, and deep self-inquiry, meditation, stillness, presence, I remembered how to switch the screen off. I reconnected with that place within that is untouched by the stories I’d lived.
This is how I sit with you. Together, we will gently explore the scenes, characters, and turning points of your life script. We’ll uncover how those moments shaped your view of yourself and the world, and begin the work of healing, placing those chapters to rest with love and peace.

My role is not to fix. You are not broken. Pain is part of being human, but suffering is the story we attach to the pain. That story can become a loop that keeps the screen running, disconnecting us from our resilience and essence.

Our work is to walk together, at your pace, through the layers. To create a space where you can safely explore, feel, and remember who you truly are.
My practice is rooted in Humanistic modalities that honour your whole being.

Person-Centred Therapy is the foundation. It represents the constant signal beneath the noise, the self-actualised ‘TV’. I believe we all carry this essence, but sometimes we lose sight of it. My role is to hold space while you reconnect with that deep inner knowing.

-
Gestalt Therapy brings the past into the present. It invites us to look at how our early environments and experiences shaped the ways we make contact with others, with life, and with ourselves. We explore those moments with curiosity, how you adapted, the roles you took on, the figures that shaped you. Importantly, the relationship we build in therapy becomes part of that healing. I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is a sacred space for transformation, a living encounter that fosters self-awareness for both of us.

Transactional Analysis (TA) helps us trace the roots of the life script, the developmental blueprint written in childhood through interactions with caregivers and key authority figures. TA brings clarity to the patterns, drivers, and beliefs that keep your internal screen on constant replay. By understanding the origin of these characters and messages, we can bring awareness, choice, and new direction.
