“Know thyself” a simple yet profound invitation that lies at the heart of my therapeutic approach.

"I Am" Therapy believe we each carry a life script: a story shaped by early roles, relationships, and the environments we've passed through. Over time, these scripts can begin to define us, but they are not who we truly are.

In our work together, I offer a sacred space to pause, reflect, and gently explore the many layers of your script. I see you not as broken, but as whole, perhaps just entangled in stories that no longer serve you.

My approach is Humanistic and Integrative, rooted in Person-Centred Therapy, Gestalt, and Transactional Analysis. I offer a relational, trauma-informed space where you can safely explore your experiences at a pace that feels right for you.

Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, emotionally stuck, struggling within relationships, or simply searching for a deeper understanding of yourself, therapy can offer a space for reflection, awareness, healing, and change.

Areas of Practice

Trauma Informed Support & professional experience

My therapeutic work is informed not only through clinical training, but also through years of experience working within frontline environments and supporting individuals exposed to trauma, crisis, grief, and high-pressure situations.

Alongside my private practice, I have delivered trauma-informed wellbeing support within organisational settings, including facilitating a trauma-informed psychoeducation and reflective support programme for the London Fire Brigade Community Engagement Team following the impact of critical incidents.

This work focused on:

  • Trauma awareness and psychoeducation

  • Emotional wellbeing and self-regulation

  • Reflective group discussions

  • Burnout and vicarious trauma

  • Creating safer relational spaces within teams

  • Understanding the impact of trauma on the mind and body

Within private practice, I have experience working therapeutically with survivors of rape, sexual abuse, and sexual trauma, offering assessment and ongoing counselling support within a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space.

My approach remains grounded in empathy, collaboration, emotional safety, and respecting each individual’s pace and process.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent over two decades working within frontline policing roles, where I witnessed the impact trauma, grief, crisis, violence, and survival can have on individuals, families, communities, and professionals themselves.

Those experiences deepened my understanding of human vulnerability, resilience, and the importance of relational support. They also shaped my passion for creating spaces where people feel genuinely seen, heard, and emotionally safe.

Today, my work brings together both lived and professional understanding. Alongside my private practice, I have experience supporting individuals with trauma, including survivors of rape and sexual abuse, offering therapeutic assessment and ongoing counselling within a compassionate, trauma-informed space. I have also delivered trauma-informed wellbeing support, psychoeducation, and reflective group work within organisational settings, including work alongside the London Fire Brigade Community Engagement Team.

Through this work, and through my own personal journey, I received what felt like the most beautiful invitation:

“Know thyself.”

This invitation was not an interrogation, but a sacred turning inward. A gentle yet profound inquiry into the layers gathered over time through experience, relationships, pain, conditioning, and survival. Beneath those layers, something unchanging remained. Something true.

“I Am.”

I see lives as scripts, each of us born into a play already in motion. Cast with characters such as family, friends, teachers, lovers, and communities. Each scene shaped by environment, emotion, culture, and experience. As children, we absorb these roles and settings, and from them we begin building our identities. Scripts become beliefs. Beliefs become behaviours. Over time, many of us forget we were ever the writer.

Within the therapeutic work, I offer another metaphor:

Imagine yourself as a television. The life script plays across the screen, flickering scenes, old stories, moments of joy, grief, shame, fear, love, and survival. Yet the television itself, the source beneath the images, is never altered by what appears upon it. It remains steady. Still. Whole.

But many of us forget how to switch the script off. We become entangled in the drama, believing we are the story itself.

I too have felt lost within my own life script. Through therapy, spiritual practice, meditation, stillness, presence, and deep self-inquiry, I began reconnecting with the part of myself untouched by the stories I had lived through.

This is how I sit with you.

Together, we will gently explore the scenes, relationships, patterns, wounds, and turning points that have shaped your experience of yourself and the world. At your pace, we begin making space for awareness, healing, understanding, and compassion, allowing old chapters to soften and come to rest with greater peace.

My role is not to fix you, because I do not believe you are broken.

Pain is part of being human. Yet suffering can grow through the stories we become trapped within, stories that keep the screen endlessly running and disconnect us from our resilience, presence, and deeper sense of self.

Our work is to walk together through those layers. To create a space where you can safely explore, feel, reflect, heal, and remember who you truly are beneath the script.

My work today is grounded in compassion, curiosity, depth, and care, offering a therapeutic space where all parts of your experience are welcome.

About

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens in the first session?

The first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another. We may explore what has brought you to therapy, your hopes for the process, and whether we feel like the right fit to work together.

Do I need to know exactly what to talk about?

No. Many people begin therapy feeling uncertain, overwhelmed, or unable to fully express what they are experiencing. Therapy can help create understanding and clarity over time.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Therapy is confidential within professional and ethical boundaries, which will be discussed clearly during our initial work together.

How long will I need therapy?

This varies for each person. Some people seek short-term support around a specific issue, while others engage in longer-term exploratory work.
